EPP Transfer Protection
Find out more info on EPP Transfer Protection and the way it really protects a domain.
Transferring a domain name from one company to another typically involves the use of a unique domain authorization code, which different registrar companies refer to as an EPP key, a domain password or an AuthInfo code. This code can be used as a protection measure against unapproved transfers with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. It can be obtained only by the owner of the particular domain and is issued by the present domain registrar company. It must be given to the new registrar company because the transfer process cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and generally contains numbers and special characters, so as to prevent unauthorized persons from hijacking it. Some companies even alter the codes of domains registered through them every now and then for even better security.

EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting
In case you’ve got a domain name registered through our company and you’ve got a website hosting account with us, getting its EPP transfer code is remarkably easy. You will not need to switch between different admin dashboards, as you can administer all your domain names via the same Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is used to administer your hosting account. You’ll see all active domain names as soon as you sign in and next to the domains whose extensions require an EPP transfer code in order to be transferred away, you’ll notice a tiny EPP icon. All it takes to obtain this code is to click on the icon. The code is always sent to the domain owner’s email account, so if the one that you gave initially isn’t valid any longer, you can modify it with a few clicks of the mouse from the same section.
- EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain that you would like to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer code exceptionally easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your account and your domain names. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll notice an EPP icon on the right side of your domain names, on the condition that their TLD extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to ensure that only the owner of the domain can see this information. If the current email is not valid any longer, you can modify it with a couple of mouse clicks without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel. The update is instant, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the given domain right away. - EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
